Dear CTL Members and Friends,

The Interim Pastor, Dr. David Williams, and I wanted to send you this letter of invitation to participate in our weekly worship.  We have learned over the years that members and friends feel more connected to the church when they play a role in the service.

I have outlined below the different volunteer positions available.  You can volunteer every week, once in a while, or whatever your schedule allows. Feel free to volunteer for something different each time or the same thing.  The choice is yours to make each month when Pastor Williams requests your availability for the upcoming month.  Simply indicate what weeks you are available and what you would like to do:

  • Music : sing and/or play an instrument as a soloist and/or as part of our music ensemble
  • Acolyte: holder of the elements for the communion server
  • Reader: reading of the Scriptures and/or the contemporary reading which will be sent to you ahead of time
  • Usher: welcome people as they enter, hand out the hymnals and bulletins, pass the collection plate, direct people during communion, assist in the set up and break down of the alter
  • Hospitality:  host the weekly coffee social time which takes place on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sunday.  Lead the setting up and breaking down of our potluck fellowship on the 2nd Sunday of the month.  Our hospitality chair person is Marion Willis
  • Preaching:  share a spiritual message in the pulpit Sunday morning .

Thank you for your consideration in sharing your talents.
Very Truly Yours,

Pastor David Williams, M.D. M.P.H. & Debbie Bennett, Worship Planning Team
